Reporting to the Principal Advisor, the role provides a liaison and coordination point in the Office of the Executive Director ensuring the timeliness, quality and accuracy of briefings, responses and submissions to the Office of the Minister for Housing and Public Works, the Director-General and the Deputy Director-General.



In this position you will:



    • Manage the flow of correspondence, Parliamentary, Ministerial and Director-General briefing notes for the Queensland Government Accommodation Office (QGAO) through the departmental Mincor system.

    • Research and prepare briefings, responses and submissions to the Office of the Minister, the Director-General and the Deputy Director-General ensuring a high level of quality, accuracy and timeliness.

    • Undertake often sensitive and confidential investigations resulting from enquiries, questions or complaints from a range of clients, public sector officers and the public that have been directed to the Office of the Executive Director, ensuring that these are addressed in a prompt and professional manner.

    • Maintain a comprehensive and accurate database to support the effective management of QGAO's Ministerial and executive documentation workflow and provide detailed status reports on a regular basis to the Executive Director on the correspondence generated.

    • Provide advice to Senior Management and staff in relation to Ministerial, Parliamentary and Departmental protocols.

    • Remain abreast of legislative, media and policy developments in Queensland, which may have potential impacts on QGAO.

    • Undertake special projects and other project management activities as directed, and research and provide advice on a range of organisational issues.

    • Participate as a Project Team member on a range of business improvement initiatives.

    • Where delegated, ensure effective management of relevant staff within the Office of the Executive Director.

    • Remain abreast of legislative, media and policy developments in Queensland, which may have potential impacts on QGAO.

    • Undertake special projects and other project management activities as directed, and research and provide advice on a range of organisational issues.

    • Participate as a Project Team member on a range of business improvement initiatives.

    • Where delegated, ensure effective management of relevant staff within the Office of the Executive Director.
