The HR Manager position will be taking responsibility for setting up and establishing practices within the Australian market for this new business venture which is part of a wider Global organisation. The role will be responsible for the following activities:

    • Working closely with various departments, to help establish the new Country Organization;

    • Working closely with the Country Manager on set up of the Australian organisation;

    • Understanding and implementing the wider Group policies and procedures and localising them to fit within the Australian Legal framework;

    • Recruitment of all new employees and identifying where expatriation from the wider group is needed. This will involve development of new job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates;

    • Establishing immigration requirements and undertaking the visa application process for expatriated employees;

    • Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits;

    • Administering payroll and maintaining employee records;

    • Interpreting and advising on employment law;

    • Developing HR planning strategies, which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements;

    • Analyzing training needs in conjunction with departmental managers;

    • Negotiating with staff and their representatives (for example, trade union officials) on issues relating to pay and conditions;

    The successful candidate will need to have:

    • At least 6 years HR Generalist experience

    • An HR Related degree

    • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

    • The ability to work in a multicultural environment

    • Experience in start ups would be preferable

    • Experience in a multinational organisation would be preferable

    • Italian or Spanish language skills would be an advantage
