Our client is seeking a Project Officer to provide project management support and back up secretarial services to two senior executives. The role will support the General Manager in overseeing a number of key projects in the repair and rebuilding of the organisation and assisting with the collective reporting of progress on each major area of activity. The position will also ensure all projects meet organisational expectations; comply with internal policies and external compliance requirements; ensure appropriate controls are in place; proactively help all areas of the organisation to enable them to work effectively; proactively raise issues that impact on the organisation's performance in a timely fashion; and ensure that the President and General Manager have the appropriate information to inform sound decision-making. You will also be responsible for the coordination of reporting on allocated projects across various functional areas and completion of projects that have been directly allocated to this position. You will also provide back up to the Executive Assistant (currently three days per week) supporting the General Manager and President. This will include, but is not limited to coordinating travel, calendars/diaries, schedules, resources and project plans.

Suitable candidates will have familiarity and working knowledge of one of the industry standard Project Management methodologies (such as Prince 2, MSP, PMBOK, etc) with excellent reporting and documentation skills and advanced project schedule development and maintenance skills applying MS Project and all MS applications. You will have outstanding efficiency and time management with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Importantly you will be adaptable, flexible and be willing to work out of hours when needed. Excellent communications skills, particularly writing and briefing and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, to prioritise accordingly, and to demonstrate initiative are important. Importantly you will be self-directed, have a positive attitude with have strong values and the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality dealing with Senior Political and Public figures.
