Our client, a large complex government organisation, is currently seeking a Senior Communications Officer for various information technology implementation projects.

Roles and responsibilities;

    • Work closely with the Organisational Change Manager and Project Manager to maximise a variety of communications channels to assist in achieving project outcomes

    • Manage and report on project communications activities in line with the approved Change Management and Communications Strategy

    • Develop a range of project communications artefacts for internal and external application

    • Develop Ministerial briefings and provide recommendations on briefings for senior Executives and Director Generals across government

    • Manage approval and release of project communications, working closely with Corporate Communications as required

    • Coordinate training and education activities across the state including event management, preparing presentations and support material, managing attendance and report on attendance and feedback

    • Management of project Microsoft SharePoint sites as Site Administrator

    • Preparing communication with stakeholders in relation to project assurance matters including managing all dedicated project email accounts

    • Identify communication issues amongst stakeholder groups, and develop and implement proactive measures to address.

    • Assist in preparing project management reports including highlight reports, papers, presentations and business case documentation including visual aids

    • Maintenance of the stakeholder database

    Essential Qualifications/Certifications/Skills

    • 3 years ICT project communications experience, ideally as part of a Change Management team

    • Demonstrated experience in preparing Ministerial briefings and Executive level communications

    • Ability to develop key messages and content suitable for a variety of channels and audiences

    • Experience in supporting the delivery of training initiatives, ideally including developing training material

    • Experience as Microsoft SharePoint administrator including managing site permissions, lists, libraries and forms and writing content for digital medium

    • Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, essential

    • Strong communication skills, both written and oral

    • Ability to work in a busy and fast-paced environment

    • High energy and the ability to think on your feet

    Desirable Qualifications/Certifications/Skills

    • Experience in GIS or spatial projects desirable but not essential

    • Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Access and Visio an advantage
