Project Engineer- Infrastructure

Job Summary:

An opportunity has become available for a Project Engineer to work in either a delivery or pre-contracts capacity within State Government.

There are openings for immediate starts in ongoing contracts for experienced Project Engineer or Project Manager to work on major project road infrastructure projects.

This position is for a Project Engineer who can provide evidence of local market knowledge and provide immediate expertise to a variety of large road infrastructure projects throughout Victoria. The role will be based within a busy project office and across multiple sites to ensure delivery of projects involving various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate planning, work scheduling and resources relating to the delivery of the project
  • Coordinate and prepare pre-construction activities
  • Prepare and administer contracts
  • Assist in the preparation of risk management plans for contracts and projects
  • Coordinate construction and contract administration
  • Liaise and negotiate with key stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes
  • Create an environment where teamwork, accountability and the customer are the focus of the team

To be considered for this role you will:

  • 3 years+ experience within infrastructure projects Victoria
  • Ideally a proven track record within bridge and infrastructure projects in Australia
  • Local understanding and proven local infrastructure project experience
  • Be comfortable using traditional and practiced methods of engineering
  • Provide evidence of prior stakeholder engagement and management experience
  • Be capable of running and contributing to technical/toolbox meetings
  • Have confidence delivering technical projects and working closely with design consultancies
  • Hold strong interpersonal skills and can demonstrate leadership ability
  • Possess excellent communication skills and report writing
  • Confident and clear understanding of AustRoads and VicRoads standards
