Traffic Designer

Our client are an major multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy with large local project involvement across infrastructure, land development and environmental sectors and an excellent future pipeline of Civil and Structural projects across Melbourne.

The Job:

The role of Traffic Designer will be within our clients Traffic and Transport section, where daily projects will require a high capability of analysing traffic, road layout, intersection and roundabout design using Microstation. Therefore daily responsibilities may include;

  • Full design and draft focus on Microstation and AutoCAD, with potential of some 3D aspects
  • Infrastructure and intersection analysis and report follow up
  • Compliance to VicRoads standards
  • Designing intersection, roundabouts and road layouts
  • Advising clients on a variety of Traffic and Transport related issues
  • Communication across stakeholders, clients, land owners and contractors, alongside internal teams and working across a package of works
  • Developing stakeholder management, with ability to maintain and grow business relationships

The Candidate: This is a role for a candidate capable of providing evidence in working across a similar Traffic and Transport role in Australia. Generally, some of the key focus points for a suitable candidate in this role would be;

  • Relevant qualification across a Civil Engineering discipline
  • Between 3-7 Years traffic design experience using Microstation
  • Proficient in Microstation and AutoCAD design
  • Capable of Intersection, Signals or Roundabouts design
  • Understanding and ability to work across elements of 3D Traffic design ideally
  • Ability to show evidence of general Traffic & Transport knowledge in Victoria, or evidence of Victorian Infrastructure and Transport projects
  • Technical ability and understanding to work independently and provide supervision and support to graduates
