Who are we?

Our role is to support world-leading science and environmental protection and to raise public awareness of the global significance of the continent and surrounding Southern Ocean.

Antarctica NZ is experiencing an exciting period of growth and with this comes the need to deliver key messaging around two significant organisational projects. In this newly created role you will support the execution of Antarctica New Zealand's communication strategy by creating consistent internal/external communications including media releases, digital content and the management and planning of stakeholder events.

What will you do?

  • Find, investigate, research and write media releases
  • Create meaningful digital content
  • Assist with annual publications, manuals and promotional material
  • Ensure attention to detail and high standards across a busy work stream

What will you bring?

  • At least 4 years' experience in journalism, communications or a marketing role
  • Creativity in writing, with a strength in content production and excellent proofreading/editing skills
  • A passion for science communication
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications and an interpersonal style that will see you partner effectively with others.
