We are seeking applications from trade qualified, time served or equivalent automotive mechanics/coachbuilders or fitters to work with minimal supervision on marine based engines from diagnostics testing, tuning, repair, through to full assembly. Primarily, these being Toyota Lexus, Ford and GM V6/V8 engines.


Allied with your automotive and supervision/team leading skills, experience with water propulsion systems and jet boat applications would be advantageous.


Candidates would be expected to be able to install and align engines and significantly contribute to the manufacture and equipment installation of the boat assembly.


Coupled to your automotive skills, candidates need to be able to demonstrate competent mig welding skills to NZ standards both in aluminium and mild steels in the manufacture of boat hulls and trailers. Tig welding in stainless and aluminium would also be advantageous plus use of small workshop equipment including lathes, drill press, guillotines and rollers.


As part of leading a small team the role also encompasses liaising with customers and clients on a regular basis.
