The organisation

Our client is a well-known public organisation undergoing a large programme of work nationwide. This programme is expected to continue for a number of years, providing exciting and continuous project work.

The role

The role of the Project Manager is to ensure the effective delivery of projects in a timely and quality manner. You will be focused on achieving outcomes defined within the business case (scope, timeline and budget) and work with other member of the project team, including other Project Managers to achieve a common objective.

Some of the specific responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the projects are on track to achieve project check points
  • Tracking and managing project financials and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Liaising with other Project Managers within the organisation to resolve any issues that may hinder the progression of the project or other business activities.
  • Identifying areas for continuous activity improvement/mitigate loss
  • Managing the relationships with external vendors
  • Leading the project team by enabling others, sharing knowledge/expertise and collaboration.

Key requirements

You will be a seasoned Project Manager, capable working autonomously within complex environments. You will possess an industry qualification which demonstrates your IT and/or Project Management knowledge, such as Prince 2 (Practitioner) or ITIL foundation.

Additionally, you will be well adept in:

  • Managing IT infrastructure projects
  • Leading both technical and non-technical employees in a collaborative manner
  • Managing multiple projects with changing demands and priorities
  • IT processes such as fault management and release management.
  • Developing and negotiating and with external and internal stakeholders
