Job Description

Role Overview:

As the Senior Director, Capability Lead, you are responsible for driving talent readiness, scheduling, chargeability, recovery, and operational excellence across Talent Communities in alignment with Market Unit demand. In this role, you will require a strong connection to our GDN (off-shore) leadership, teams and resources as they form a significant part of the client's people, solution and delivery models.

Additionally, you must have an expert understanding of applications, the client's solutions and delivery methods and capabilities to ensure their clients receive the best experience. Your role is operationally critical in managing a very large team in the organisation, as it enables required capacity for Business and Market Unit leads to focus on growth and delivery and creates a critical link between Business Units, Professional Services, Talent Communities, and Region Leadership. Overall, you will be a key leader in the region (based in Singapore), working very closely day-to-day with the Regional General Manager, and is the key driver for effective workplace planning and strategy.

Key Role Responsibilities:

Day-to-day, you will:

Partner with Professional Services, Technology Functions, Talent Community, and Regional leaders to define and fulfill talent needs within assigned group

Identify and drive consistent, integrated processes to manage resource chargeability optimization within and across Business, Talent Communities and Regions

Support effective management and deployment of bench resources to assess readiness and optimize chargeability based on business need and employee desires

Support smooth transitions of project resources between the project and the bench, including Day 1 project on-boarding and readiness

Facilitate training attendance to meet skill demands and training plans within Region, while balancing project demands and overall chargeability goals; active in defining training needs and setting training goals (e.g., certification numbers), and partnering with TCs and HR on course development as required

Lead development, implementation and evaluation of overall region-specific workplace strategy, evaluating against defined metrics, in partnership with Region and Business Unit Leads

Translate defined and changing go-to-market strategies into workforce planning initiatives and operations

Lead analysis of productivity and chargeability of IT Consulting resources to identify chargeability/recovery gaps and issues

Lead analysis and forecasting of resource supply and demand to support project and workforce planning

Deliver key metrics reporting (productivity, training, supply and demand metrics) to Professional Services, Business Unit, Talent Community, and Area/Region leaders to support decision-making

Support Finance in identifying areas of cost control based on resource training budget (internal, external) and approved internal expenses

Take responsibility for supporting communications relevant to organizational workforce initiatives

Mentor, interacts with, solicit feedback from, and support region Talent Community champions

Consider the perspective of the employee and overall employee engagement in strategy development, implementation

Lead efforts to provide career guidance and support to their employees, securing organizational commitment and building a healthy organizational culture

Support Talent Community-centric activities, fostering a positive, developmental and engaged employee culture

Support foundational people-centric initiatives and activities: terminations, performance improvement plans, calibration, performance reviews, career management activities, etc.

Proven and successful records in managing P & L.


Key Role Skill & Capability Requirements:

Your technical and non-technical skills may include:

Strong in IT Consulting and Application instead of infrastructure

Extensive functional knowledge or track record operating in an operations enablement role in a consulting vendor environment with multiple direct reports

Experience managing aspects of resource deployment and mobilization to meet business objectives and client demands

Strong knowledge of the client solutions and delivery methods and processes

Prior work experience identifying and forecasting resourcing needs based on skillset demand in the Region, collaborating closely with core partner business units

Strong quantitative skills and experience analyzing, synthesizing staffing metrics such as availability, demand, chargeability and sourcing forecast

Outstanding communication and presentation skills.

Ability to deliver strong messages to encourage and ensure compliance with the client's processes and procedures

Demonstrated ability to drive executive level discussions related to chargeability forecasts and business/talent leads are alerted to potential shortcomings in forecast

Detailed understanding of capabilities, credentials, certifications and other education and background needs of staff to deliver successful engagements

Demonstrated ability to operate in a complex, matrixed organization within a fast paced environment

Preferred Education Background:

You will likely possess a BA, BS, or equivalent degree in relevant field; An advanced degree, such as MBA, MA, MS is highly preferred

Preferred Years of Work Experience:

You will likely have 12+ years of experience, including 5+ years of IT consulting expertise and minimum 3-5 years of consulting leadership experience

Preferred: Senior leadership and management experience of large development/engineering and/or operations team of minimum 50-70 staff strength.

Scope of Work:

Nature of Work: Collaboratively sets strategic objectives with other leaders, and other managers as they deliver against strategic plans; monitors operational effectiveness, and intervenes to increase likelihood of success.

Scope of Work: Translates high-level strategy into more localized strategy and operational objectives for large-scale and strategically-critical workstreams.

Complexity: Highly complex problems, often requiring analysis of near-intangible factors, creative solutioning and significant networking to succeed. Significant integration of work efforts and inputs are required.

Discretion: Authority to establish standards and shift overall direction of projects and programs in response to functional strategy.

Leadership Stakes: Failure likely to have longer-term impact on business operations / success.

Scope of Financials: Owns a portion of budget within a given business unit (e.g., org. function, geography etc.) and may allocate some budget to more junior leaders.

Supervision Received: Operates with extreme latitude in determining focus and approach to work objectives.

Knowledge Applied: Applies expert knowledge of a learned professional occupation / discipline and demonstrable, broad knowledge of business operations and organizational strategy.
