About the role

Our client, a local government body, is currently seeking an experienced Campaigns and Engagement Advisor to join them on a 6 month contract based in the outer eastern suburbs. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications planning procedures, as well as deliver and implement effective campaign strategies in line with organisational priorities and community needs.

Responsibilities and duties

Your key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and/or assist in the design, implementation and management of communication strategies for major community engagement exercises to ensure that community information and engagement needs are being met.
  • Develop customer centric campaign strategies that deliver on community needs, organisation priorities, and achieve high standards of engagement, satisfaction and enhance the reputation of the organisation.
  • Manage campaigns from conception through to launch, including brief writing, agency briefing and management, timeline, key messages and budget development.
  • Coordinate with, and brief, staff in relation to media, web, and production.
  • Research and write content for DM/eDM, web content, editorial collateral, social media, etc. Ensure copy is engaging, clear, concise, accurate, and is in plain language.
  • Manage suppliers in the delivery of projects including briefing, quoting, timeline development and management, proofing, sign off and approvals.
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and input for assigned projects, ensuring that strong and open relationships are built with all key stakeholders. Effectively manage all stakeholder expectations.

Skills and Experience

The skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include:

  • Substantial experience developing cross-channel communication strategies
  • Experience in the formation and implementation of communication strategies for community consultation programs.
  • Proven experience in cross-channel campaign implementation, including digital marketing (web, email, social, SMS, mobile),
  • Demonstrated ability in project management, budget management and strong time management skills.
  • Experience using digital marketing platforms such as Content Management Systems (CMS) and email marketing systems (e.g. MailChimp) to execute campaigns.
  • Strong experience researching and writing creative content, including DM/eDM, editorial, web content, collateral, advertisements.
  • Track record of effective supplier management, from brief through to implementation (agencies and other partners).
  • Please note: Applicants will require a current driver's license and own vehicle

Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Communications and/or Marketing is desirable.
