Category Manager

  • 12 month contract

  • Our client, an employer of choice is currently building a team to deliver high quality services, is now seeking a Category Manager to join their highly skilled team.

    The Role:

    The purpose of this role is to strategically manage the delivery of contract management services for both internal and external clients consistent with commercially competitive standards for safety, cost, timeliness, quality, scope and client satisfaction.

    Working as a key part of the wider team, this role will assist the procurement team in critical elements of the newly created structure. This will demand someone who can hit the ground running within a sometimes challenging environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Are you able to assist us with this Category Manager recruitment, details below?

    • Undertake Category Management across a range of goods and services contractts.

    • Knowledge of Facilities Management, IT and Professional Services categories would be advantageous.

    • Development and execution of sourcing strategies, including full end-to-end tender facilitation (development of documentation, bid evaluation, supplier selection, etc.).

    • Undertake commercial and contractual supplier negotiations.

    • Contract development

    • Working with key stakeholders to identify procurement and savings opportunities.

    • Undertake supplier relationship management.

    • Manage and mitigate risks through procurement strategies and through provision of advice to the business.

    • Provision of general procurement policy and process advice to the business.

    • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders at various levels

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Proven track records of Contracts Management, Strategic Sourcing or category Management essential

    • Life Cycle Contracts Experience Essential

    • Experience of procurement
    • ideally facilities management
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
