For this State Government Department we are currently recruiting for a Category Support Specialist for a VPS 5 18 month fixed term contract.

The Regional Services division provides centrally led support for procurement and contracts management across their regional portfolio. This role will be supporting the Category Manager - Food Services. You will:

  • Analyse spend data and develop category management opportunities.
  • Deliver market research to assist in building a business case for sourcing strategies.
  • Engage with all internal and external stakeholders to streamline outcome requirements.
  • Execute end to end sourcing strategies.
  • Negotiate, establish and execute supplier contracts into contract management and performance manage.

To be considered for this opportunity we want you to demonstrate:

  • Commercial acumen in managing services contracts and dealing with suppliers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solving and a methodical approach to driving procurement outcomes.
  • Experience managing high value contracts preferably in services, food or government.

You can expect to work with in a professional environment and working with senior stakeholders in the organisation. After the 18 months there is a potential for career progression.
