Commercial Manager - Engineering Consultancy

Hudson Global is currently sourcing for an executive role for a well-established, highly reputable global brand with a major presence in multiple engineering sectors.

This is a role which will allow a suitable applicant to be involved in some of Melbourne's major PPP and D&C Civil Infrastructure projects.

Our client are looking for a Commercial Manager and Client Development Manager to generate and expand their global brand on a state level, creating stronger client and contractor networks across Victoria, NSW and QLD. This role will be focused in developing further market share, civil infrastructure involvement and client relationships in Civil Engineering projects.

The role of Commercial Manager will involve:

  • Developing personal relationships with key clients in order to drive business development and future relationships
  • Successfully create bid strategies and client opportunities in an engineering (civil infrastructure) environment
  • Autonomous strategy development to increase market share, brand awareness and cost-cutting methods
  • Driving sales and client development, including the potential of managing bids on Civil Infrastructure and Engineering projects
  • Negotiating and developing new business relationships
  • Writing proposals and help maintaining the proposal training program
  • Working to strict deadlines and KPIs in a Civil Engineering consultancy
  • Improving financial performance and the bid development strategy
  • Upholding corporate strategy to support business growth and expansion

This is a highly autonomous role which will require a Commercial Manager with strong leadership skills and a strong business network to further develop a global engineering brand across Australia. With these details in mind it is imperative for the suitable Degree qualified candidate to have the following:

  • 10 years heavy industry experience within an Engineering or Business Development (Engineering) sector
  • Excellent ability to provide evidence in a corporate leadership role and build relationships
  • Proven business network and stakeholder engagement across Construction and Engineering projects
  • Drive and motivation to ensure business growth and market share
  • Client relationship building and influential presence
  • Ability to work independently on national projects and drive corporate goals
  • Demonstrated major bid development and review experience, ideally in the Victorian Civil Infrastructure industry
