Broad remit around communications, marketing, social media and digital strategy
6 month contract, based in Sydney CBD

My client is looking for a Communications Advisor, with a strong emphasis on social media background. This role supports the coordination and delivery of communications strategies and activities to promote the organisations policies, strategies, plans and programs. We are looking for someone who has a strong background in general marketing and experience working in digital as well. This is a 6 month contract role, based in the Sydney CBD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality social media strategies and campaigns from concept to evaluation, including content creation (with a focus on video) and monitoring
  • Create social media content that is informed, concise and well-structured for all owned channels
  • Develop campaigns that align with stakeholder communications strategies and activities to ensure customers, the community and other stakeholders are engaged and informed
  • Create and edit high quality video content for social media channels to support communications strategies in a timely and professional manner

Skills

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear and simple concepts that meet both internal and external stakeholder information needs
  • Support and promote the creative social media content ideas that will engage external stakeholders and meet the expectations of internal stakeholders
  • Experiences creating high quality video content for social media
  • Ability to respond to emerging urgent matters and quickly synthesise and deal with issues of public interest with multiple competing projects and tight deadlines

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in communications or other relevant discipline and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • Five years' experience in a similar field
  • Capacity to travel to outer suburban and regional locations, and to work outside of core business hours in the evening and on weekends
  • Government experience preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite
