Strategic Vision with Operational Design & Implementation

Department of Justice WA

This is an incredibly exciting time for hands-on, high performing, senior executives to join the recently restructured Department of Justice, and lead critical functional areas into the future. In a dynamic environment, with keen political, media and community oversight, you will play a vital role in contemporising standards, processes and service delivery, to deliver change.

Work collaboratively across the justice system, government, peak bodies and with other key stakeholders to shape outcomes for the fourth largest government department in WA. Are you up for the unique challenges that WA presents, in these career building roles?

Deputy Commissioner Women and Young People (Ref. No. 4B/27053)

As an advocate for producing better outcomes and improving standards for women and young people in custodial operations and rehabilitation services, you will focus on the right outcomes, oversee a large change program of work, and deliver accountable and best-practice custodial operations.

Design a new and highly effective approach for working strategically across the organisation, government, and human services in the broadest sense, so critical stakeholders are consulted and are invested in policies, diversion strategies and new models of care.

Translate operational language into boarder strategies. Understand culturally the unique needs of women, and ensure geographical isolation does not limit program and service delivery to the State's most vulnerable.

Your Skills and Experience

Strong experience initiating and managing strategies and services in a human services / corrective services environment, working with broad ranging stakeholders, and ensuring operations are compliant with legislation, policy and procedures and focus on reducing reoffending and meeting specialist needs.
