About the role:



Our client, a statutory authority, requires an experienced Internal Communications Manager for a full-time, fixed term position working within the Media & Corporate Communications Department at their Head Office located in the CBD.



The focus of the role will be to implement the endorsed Communications and Engagement Strategy for the organisation, and to provide advice to stakeholders on governance and strategic issues and delivering on specific initiatives to connect with different employee audiences, using a range of channels (e.g. written, audio, video, focus groups, and intranet resources) to support cultural reform.





Reporting to the Change Communications Manager, you will also be responsible for



Key responsibilities:

  • Working with the Project Team to support the integration of communication activities into project plans.
  • Compiling, producing and editing communications content and implementing activities required to execute the communication plans in line with specific business and project objectives.
  • Identifying stakeholders, perform stakeholder analysis and develop communication plans to meet specific stakeholder needs.
  • Performing change readiness and impact assessments to inform change and communications planning.
  • Developing effective relationships with stakeholders, and supporting them in preparing for communications and change.
  • Actively engaging with stakeholders to ensure that communication strategies are successfully implemented and evaluated.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of change and communication strategies and related plans for specific business and project phases.
  • Assisting in the planning and coordination of stakeholder engagement activities, such as meetings, workshops, focus groups, training and presentations.





Experience and Skills:



As well as being positive, energetic and extremely motivated with an outgoing personality, the skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include:

  • A demonstrated record of achievement at a senior level in planning and managing the development, implementation and delivery of communication programs within a large, complex environment and to external clients within tight timeframes.
  • Proven experience as a Communications professional consulting with senior managers and staff at all levels of an organisation to provide pragmatic solutions to business objectives and projects.
  • Highly developed analytical, conceptual, written communication and presentation skills including the ability to tailor the message to the needs and interests of the audience in reports, policy papers and written and verbal briefings.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to gain cooperation and achieve realistic outcomes.
  • Proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction, and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for the stakeholder and the Department.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant field e.g. Communications or equivalent
