Logistics and Expediting Coordinator

We are working on an exciting opportunity with an innovative company who are going from strength to strength as they continue to grow and maintain their market leading position and recruit for an experienced Logistics and Expediting Coordinator. This newly created role is in the Supply Chain Department with a particular focus across shipping and transport operations. The ideal candidate will be expected to be responsible for providing end to end supply chain coordination and expediting support .

Role Description:

  • You will be the focal point between Procurement national and internationally and the Vendor
  • Manage the expediting of project and stock materials based on inventory requirements and time critical campaigns.
  • Provide daily updates and reporting in regards to progress of Expedited materials.
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers to ensure on time delivery of inbound and outbound materials.
  • Coordinate all the inbound and outbound domestic/international freight.
  • Manage costings and review invoices from service providers
  • Expediting all shipping and necessary documentation with freight forwarders.
  • Maintain regular contact with freight companies overs scheduled and charges.
  • Maintain and distribute the weekly warehouse/port arrival schedule

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • You will have a proven track record of managing procurement expediting across multiple vendors in an organised
  • Excellent customer service and stakeholder management skills with both internal and external parties; corporate, technical and vendor/contractors
  • Logistics execution experience is highly desirable
  • Good understanding of end to end supply chain
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and ideally SAP
  • Significant experience in coordinating import/export activities with sound understanding of import/export documentation
  • Safety focus with the ability to manage potential risk events
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to complex operational environments.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask as well as prioritize and work to deadlines within a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to seek for continuous improvement opportunities
  • Can do attitude

What is on offer:

Initially the role is on a temporary basis and could very easily transition through to a permaennt contract.
