About the role:

Our client, a statutory authority, requires an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager for a full-time, 3 month contract position working within their Head Office located in the CBD.

The focus of the role will be to lead the end-to-end design, development, implementation and evaluation of a marketing and communication campaign, ensuring campaigns are evidence based, effective and based on best practice, lean and agile marketing approaches.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the campaign management process, including procurement and/or oversight of media buying, graphic design, print, digital and direct marketing agencies to ensure delivery of activities within agreed time and budget parameters,
  • Work with the community stream portfolio managers to support teams in integrating communication activities into their business and project plans.
  • Compile, produce and edit communication content and implement activities required to execute the communication plan in line with specific business and project objectives.
  • Identify stakeholders, perform stakeholder analysis and develop communication plans to meet specific stakeholder needs.
  • Develop effective relationships with stakeholders, and support them in preparing for communication and change.
  • Contribute to the on-going development of change and communication advice, identifying and managing issues, risks and opportunities.
  • Provide high level communication advice and support across the organisation and help ensure that the quality and consistency of marketing and communication output is maintained and enhanced in a lean and agile way

Experience and Skills:

As well as being positive, energetic and extremely motivated individual, the skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include:

  • A demonstrated record of achievement in the development, implementation and delivery of communication programs within a government or large, complex project environment within tight timeframes.
  • Highly developed analytical, conceptual, written communication and presentation skills including the ability to tailor the message to the need and interests of the audience.
  • A strong command of social research, marketing and communication techniques, including creative development, concept testing, media planning and buying, content marketing and campaign communications.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including experience writing compelling, engaging and effective marketing and communications copy for a range of audiences and channels.
  • Proven ability to monitor client and stakeholder satisfaction; and constructively manage stakeholder issues to ensure positive outcomes for the stakeholder and the Department
  • Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant field e.g. Communications or equivalent
