If you have dealt with the minister office, and have a great talent for all things media then this is something you really should consider as your next move. This federal government department is seeking multiple PAO 2/APS 6 Communication professionals till 30th June 2019 commencing ASAP.

You must have demonstrated experience with external communications, and you will be passionate about social policy and making a difference to people's lives. This is a fast paced environment so you will need to understand the intricacies of the public service, therefore you will have been working at the APS 6 level or acting at the level for a time, and you MUST hold a Baseline clearance as a minimum.

The following are the duties but are not limited to:

  • As a Public Affairs Officer in the Communication Branch, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing communication/campaign strategies for a diverse range of initiatives.
  • develop and implement communication strategies and plans
  • work with PAO3s to support the implementation of Australian Government campaigns including advertising and public relations
  • project manage the work of appointed agencies to support communication strategies and/or campaigns (such as social, digital and traditional media engagement, community engagement and development of resources)
  • manage the delivery of communication projects to a consistently high standard, including manage external consultancies and suppliers
  • research, edit and draft material for including but not limited to; media enquiries, media releases, social media, talking points, minutes, briefs, Senate Estimates briefs, communication strategies and plans
  • provide communication advice and services to policy and programme areas within the Department for the Minister's Office/Assistant Minister's Office
  • demonstrate an excellent client management approach.

You will have relevant tertiary qualifications in journalism, communication, marketing or related fields, or be able to demonstrate recognised skills or relevant experience.
