Hudson Construction & Engineering in conjunction with our exclusive client, Broome International Airport is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join the airport's busy Engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will play a key role overseeing and managing the delivery of annual civil works and infrastructure projects vital to the ongoing operational excellence and success of Broome International Airport's facilities and operations.

About the Role

Hudson & Broome International Airport are offering a permanent position, where you'll be based residentially in the iconic northern coastal town of Broome, "where the red dirt meets the white sands and turquoise ocean". This will require the successful candidate to be located locally or committed to relocating to one of WA's most famous locations.

To be successful in this role it is essential that you are able to demonstrate previous experience as a Project Engineer, managing internal and external stakeholders, while overseeing subcontractors across civil infrastructure projects including, roads, pavements, car parks, earthworks, storm water, drainage, asphalting, concrete, utilities and minor building construction.

Ideally you will have previous employment history working within local Council or Shire project engineering teams while experience working with Tier 2 or Tier 3 civil contractors on major local infrastructure projects covering the above requirements will be looked upon favourably.

Key Criteria

    • Must hold a Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Construction Management
    • Minimum, five years of post-grad hands on experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer
    • Must have previous experience as a Project Engineer specialising in the delivery of civil projects such as roads, pavements, car parks, earthworks, storm water, drainage, asphalting, concrete, utilities and minor building construction
    • Confident people manager and not afraid to make decisions.
    • Ability to develop and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships
    • Experience with planning and implementing project works
    • Able to monitor and maintain the productivity of the on-site sub-contractor project teams
    • Implement and manage ITP's, MDR's, SWMS and SOP's
    • Strong commercial acumen and time management skills
    • Able to procure, organise and manage resources and materials required across the project
    • Commitment to the highest levels of safety, while managing and compiling project safety reports and paperwork
    • You must be an Australian citizen or a holder of an Australian permanent residency visa to be eligible to apply for this position.
    • Must be based locally in the Broome region or committed to relocating to Broome
