Project Manager - Pre Construction & Planning - PPP Project

The Company:

Our client is a State Government department, delivering infrastructure contracts to Contractors and Engineering Consultants across Victoria. They are currently looking for a Pre Construction Engineer to work across their large Infrastructure department in Melbourne. With an excellent track record of producing projects on time and working across various large-scale infrastructure and buildings projects regionally, our client take pride in their work and look to grow their current teams to manage a wide-ranging project pipeline.

The Job:

Our client is looking for an experienced Project Engineer capable of stepping in to a major infrastructure project at pre construction stage and show a clear ability to manage budgets, planning and produce contracts to precise timelines to local VicRoads standards.

The role will begin as a 3 month contract and have the potential to develop in to a number of similar infrastructure opportunities across this interesting and fast-paced market. The key responsibilities of this role will be;

  • Develop and produce EOI documentation
  • Manage various stakeholders and contractors across a major PPP project
  • Budget and finance management
  • Management of contract administration and documentation in a technical engineering environment
  • Stakeholder management and client-facing communication
  • Interaction with stakeholders across varied tender phases
  • Management of specialist engineering and construction contracts and documentation
  • Understanding of Government tendering practices, policy and procedure
  • Producing tendering documents to government procurement guidelines
  • Report writing on various stages of pre-construction lifecycle

This is a role for an autonomous Project Engineer specialising in pre construction and planning stages of a major PPP project in Victoria. The right person will provide an interface between various stakeholders, supplying strong communication pipeline and documentation/contract management throughout a complex and demanding project.

The Person:

The ideal candidate for the role of Project Manager will;

  • Varied experience within an Engineering and Construction industry, ideally 3-5 years
  • Design and Construct knowledge in Victoria
  • Provide evidence of Australian civil/structural experience
  • Have a full understanding of Government procedure and practice
  • Local Victorian infrastructure project experience
  • Be capable of working across pre construction phase of major infrastructure projects
  • Local Government or Construction knowledge on tendering processes and standards
  • Complete confidence in report writing
  • Experience across production of tendering phase and government practice
  • Victoria standards, procedures and compliance understanding
  • Prior contractor handling and stakeholder management
  • Have knowledge on local current and future projects
