Our client is a government organisation based in Brisbane city fringe. A Senior Business Analyst is required to assist in a significant initiative to address risks in their current ICT environment. The ideal candidate will have experience dealing with critical systems, applications and infrastructure in a government organisation, from a process modelling and improvement perspective. As the project will involve moving data to digital and cloud platforms, experience with digital solutions will be desirable.

This is an initial 6-month contract paying market rates between $750-$850/day to the right candidate, based in Brisbane city fringe.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst in large, complex organisations - experience within a government environment will be favourable
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in Business Analysis, or minimum 8 years' industry experience will be favourable
  • Strong experience in process modelling and driving process improvement initiatives
  • Excellent ability to determine and document business and technical requirements, and gain agreement with stakeholders on the optimal approach
  • High level written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document and analyse 'As-Is' and 'To-Be' business process models using industry standard methodology.
  • Identify new and alternative approaches to performing business activities: Analyse business processes, recognise potential for automation of processes, assessment of costs and potential benefits of the new approaches considered and, where appropriate, management of change, and assistance with implementation.
  • Define and manage processes for deploying and integrating new capabilities into the business.
  • Assist with the planning and co-ordination of business process and system improvement User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and to provide support to the business stakeholders to achieve a successful UAT phase.
  • Provide strategic and operational advice regarding program / project direction for business analysis activities including business process modelling, requirements elicitation, data modelling and use case development.
  • Lead the development of business and system requirements and specifications, ensuring traceability of requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop handover and ongoing support models.
  • Provide a support and mentoring role for other business analysts within program / project(s).
  • Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders, facilitates effective communications and foster relationships across program / projects.
