The Role and Responsibilities

The purpose of the Senior Procurement Officer is to lead end-to-end procurement activities and support contract management for allocated projects with this state government department. The role involves:

  • Undertaking end-to-end procurement from source to contract management
  • Providing commercial and procurement expertise and advice to stakeholders
  • Liaising between multiple business units and the Procurement Division on procurement matters
  • Ensuring procurement best practice principles are adhered to

You

In order to stand out from the crowd, your ideal background should look like this:

Technical Skills:

  • Solid state government procurement background
  • Working knowledge and understanding of VGPB guidelines
  • Contract management experience, in particular, risk management and identifying opportunities
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering value for money outcomes for state government

Personality:

  • Engaging and build relationships easily with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Creative and innovative thinker who can bring solutions to the table
  • Organised with a focus on customer service
  • Looks for mutually beneficial outcomes
