The organisation

Our client is a well-known public organisation undergoing a large programme of work in Auckland. This programme of work is expected to continue for a number of years, providing exciting and continuous project work.

The role

The role of the Project Manager is to provide leadership and work within a strategic context, to manage and deliver large, complex, critical programmes on time, to budget, to the agreed scope to realise the identified benefits.

Some of the specific responsibilities include:

• Maintain an effective relationship with the business sponsor, business groups and the technology teams
• Proactively drive the programme to achieve the business outcomes defined in the business case (including benefits, scope, time-line and budget), escalate any potential variation.
• Tracking and managing project financial's and escalate issues as appropriate
• Liaising with other Project Managers within the organisation to resolve any issues that may hinder the progression of the project or other business activities.
• Identifying areas for continuous activity improvement/mitigate loss
• Managing the relationships with external vendors
• Leading the project team by enabling others, sharing knowledge/expertise and collaboration.

You will be a seasoned Project Manager, capable of working autonomously within complex environments.

• Proven experience as a Project Manager
• Cost reduction projects
• Managing multiple projects with changing demands and priorities
• Managing global sourcing projects
• Developing and negotiating and with external and internal stakeholders
